I got this message when trying to upload images.
Permission denied for the albums folder. We tried to set it for you, but were denied. Please CHMOD this folder to 777.
I then gave the 777 permissions to the Albums folder and Album-thumbs and Album-Audio. But I still get the same error as above.

Doug - Can you do the things in this thread so I can have a better picture of what is going on?

Why is it that, if 4 people post the same question, bdaily - you can't ever seem to answer the question? Ah, yes I'm bitching, such as the life of a tech support director like yourself. And yes, I've been in your position many times, but at LEAST follow up to the problem...so people like me, who have the same problem.....can at least get an answer. Or update the very SHORT FAQ thread.
By the way - your crippling yourself to having the same problems over and over if you dont follow up or update your FAQ.

Matt - Director is a product that people install on servers. No two servers are alike. Therefore, it helps to get a picture of the configuration of that server when troubleshooting. It is an utter waste of time to make blind guesses without gathering the necessary information to diagnose the problem.
And by the way, take a look around. Take a look at the post count under my name. I work very diligently to support this product (I spent 2 hours this morning *before* my day job answering email from the weekend).

I did follow up on this problem, and I believe doug is up and running now, as his test gallery seems to be working fine. Remember, many times discussions run off into email because of sensitive details. We ask that those whose problems do get solved this way update the original thread, but this doesn't always happen. People are busy, that's life.
So, do you have an issue, or are you just trolling?

Goes back to my previous statement about crippling yourself. This is obviously a pretty common problem, and it seems to be consistant. All I'm saying is, try to narrow down the problem, and provide an answer, so that the next 200 people viewing this thread don't have to jump over 40+ posts over 5 different topics. Update the FAQ section to reflect this issue.
