I want my images to use as much of the available browser window for display as possible. All I seem able to do is size the image for the lowest-common-denominator resolution which results in a small on-screen image for viewers with high-res displays. Alternately, I can size for high-res users and leave lower-res viewers with the unhapply client experience of haveing to scroll to see all of a photo. I cannot figure out how to get SSPro to re-size my images based on the viewer's browser resolution. How do I do this?
If SSPro is not capable of doing this, perhaps the forum moderator could move this message over to the feature request area?

This is not currently possible on the Lightroom version. It can possibly be done on the Flash version via some ActionScript.
Moving to Feature Requests.

This is a HUGE request for me!!
If you look at all the current templates for photographers websites by BigFolio, BluDomain etc. then you can see what's the trend at the moment: GIANT images, re-scalable.
But who wants a template??

Second or maybe is it Third this request. this is a feature that should be added ASAP, I purchased this software looking forward to this feature, not that i expected it to be there I was fully aware that it didnt have this YET. I would love it if it could be in the next release. even with an option to turn it off for all those folks it would scare having this feature.
it is great that we can set a maximum size for the images and it will downscale them automatically, but I find myself having to tell people to push the full screen button so they can see the beauty of the images.
Looking eagerly forward to this.

I don't see why it is not possible in the Lightroom version considering native Flash galleries generated by Lightroom do this automatically. It was my assumption that this was a current feature until last week when someone complained that they couldn't see an entire gallery on my site and the browser window did not have scroll bars-leaving them very frustrated.
This feature is a must!
Offline
The scroll bars issue was resolved on the 1.3 release.

I concur. Why do I have to guess-timate the resolution of most of the viewer's screen while the plugin could be as big as the viewing area of the browser?
Please try to include it in the next release!
Offline
Would really like to see this included in next release.
My client wants his site to automatically open to full screen. I can do that with java. But SSP gets all blurry. Like I'm scaling the actual swf - not the jpgs.

I couldn't agree more. Most shoots contain both portrait & landscape profiles and filling a monitor screen with both in the slideshow would be a real winner. It is frustrating to see one perspective (V | H) at a large size and the other at a small size. Pleeeeze make this improvement to your nice product! Thx!!

Yes. This is a much-needed feature!!!
I am amazed that you don't already have this functionality. What is the point of full screen mode if the image doesn't get any larger??
Please add it asap.
thanks-

This would save me soooo much design hassle!! Add my name to the list!

okay, I say the same thing - me as well I bought the software thinking that this would be possible.......

Hi,
First of all slideshow is a great tool and gallery. But I also bought the lightroom version of slideshow pro thinking this would work.
Please add this feature as soon as prossible.
Thanks

Any progress?

I have to concur with the majority, Fullscreen mode is an absolute must. It IS THE REASON I wanted SlideShowPro and it is what disappoints me about the Lightroom Version.

Hi Antonio et al,
We're approaching a year since this thread started, and it has amassed strong support for re-scaleable image views. Any progress on this one?

+32. Dynamically rezising is absolutely essential IMO.

I hate to sound like a "me too," but I would really love to see this feature as well. I'd use it ALL-THE-TIME.
Thanks for a great product!

I assumed that feature was standard - and the more surprised I was to find out, it is not. Even the LR templates offer three different sizes ...
So, please add - I don't mind paying for this feature. Until this is not added, I won't be using SlideShowPro but stick to the LR templates.

... yep I have to add my name to this list - I had thought from what I read this was it .... lightroom already has this function and Slideshow Pro was named as the way to go.
PLEASE add this function to SlideShow Pro for Lightroom - ASAP

This request is now on the list for an entire YEAR. I hope the SlideShowPro people are still listening - and maybe even respond to it with some action. As I said before, I would be willing to pay for what I get. Currently I paid for a plug-in of rather limited use. Scaling images to fit browser can't be black magic, in particular, when you see that other services (zenfolio and similar) are using it.
Please look into this most wanted upgrade!!!

Sigi

If you want this, you would be much better off looking into a workflow involving Director, SSP for Flash (the standalone) and the Lightroom-Director export plug-in.
Offline
It has been more than a year since I started this thread. Seeing johnbeardy's comment, I have to add that I eventually did exactly that and changed over to SSP Flash, the thumbnailer and Director. I had been concerned that I wouldn't be able to figure out the required actionscript to make it work, but I found there were many sources of sample code available. I posted the script I used (and source reference) in the show and tell thread here: http://forums.slideshowpro.net/viewtopic.php?id=15614 . It was easier than I thought and works beautifully. And if you change the contents of your portfolios half as often as I do, you'll appreciate how much easier this is using Director instead of Lightroom (I just use the plugin and upload to Director from Lightroom now). I am still a little burned that the resizing wasn't possible with SSP for Lightroom, but the ease-of-use of SSP Flash combined with the thumbnailer and Director are helping me get over it. ![]()

I would like to go on the record as requesting the ability for SSP/Lightroom to resize images appropriate to the browser window size, on the fly.
Thanks.

Now this feature request is on this list for 2 (two) years. Is somebody actually listening?

We have added this feature into the latest release. See here for more information:
See the "Fluid" scaling mentioned here:
http://wiki.slideshowpro.net/SSPlr/OV-S … Dimensions
With the fluid scaling option, the slideshow will size to the container it resides in.

hallo,
can you please modifiy lr export to have a html page containing a 50px header with text "my header" and a 20px footer "my footer" and in the middle the fluid slideshow with its wet floor like your demo ?
for you it changes nothing because it is a preview, for me I have the final design of html page in which i can fill the header with navigation menu. if another user doesn't like it, with notepad++ he can remove header and footer and use ssp header...
I have not succeeded to modify the html code of your demo fluid to do that and found nobody on job board to do that
best regards
