Instead of using Thumbgrid to show a thumbnails in an album, can it be configured to load a gallery which would have a thumbnail of each album in the gallery? I am working with clients who want to change the collections of images/videos in certain categories and it seems this would make it the most straight forward.

Sorry, but currently ThumbGrid can only show thumbnails that correspond to the content of the active album of SlideShowPro for Flash. There is no method to create a ThumbGrid that would show thumbnails that correspond to albums.

So, what would you recommend in implementing Galleries from SSP Director into a website?

You can use the built-in gallery view of SlideShowPro for Flash.
You get to it via the far-left button of the navigation bar.

What I am hoping to do is to separate the gallery navigation from the slide content window so that the presentation is clean and from a design pov there is always an image in the content area - similar to the way you have executed your demo videos. Is there any way to accomplish this with the tools you provide?

Same here, I was really hoping this would allow us to finally have nested galleries of some sort.

One more here. That's exactly what in want to do also. Populate thumbgrid with album thumbnails but with an image always present in the content area of ssp

This would be incredible. I am currently using a heavily customized gallery view of SSP that is basically also a grid of thumbnails, but really wish I had the features of ThumbGrid implemented in album menu instead. Such a feature would make SSP+Thumbgrid the ultimate multimedia showcase product.

I'll put my name down for thumbgrid showing thums of the galleries

Would love that feature as well. Would be a huge enhancement to customizing gallery navigation.

I am surprised that this is not possible yet!
I felt that this option would be a MUST as an early version update
when I bought TG right as they first released it.
A HUGE oversight imo.
One of the things that I have disliked the most about SSP is the gallery and its limited scope.
I would use the gallery all the time if I could get it to behave more like TG
I would use it even more if I was able to separately customize the gallery aside from the SSP instance.
would it not make some amount of sense to have the gallery a separate component for SSP that just gets (bundled)
in the purchase of SSP?
or is the SSP team afraid that this more "useful" version of the Gallery would cut into the Thumbgrid market?
if that is the case then why not merge the Gallery's current ability with TG that way you don't loose component income.
I don't know I would just like to see either the Gallery "useful" or TG extended
as it is now I spend a decent amount of my SSP time trying to figure out the best way to display albums.
Sadly I usually have to settle on a customized MC within my Flash project.
This totally defeats the purpose of SSP.
one of the main reasons I bought SSP, TG and Director was so I can update my content w/o having to open flash.
Sadly I am continually having to do just that as the gallery lacks and TG falls short.

This is exactly what I've been trying to work out - has this been added as a feature yet?

it would really be encouraging to hear whether this feature is planned for next thumbgrid upgrejd or not. I have the same feelings as terraform. I bought thumbgrid for being able to use it as gallery browser. since it's impossible right now it's kind of redundant. I feel that the slideshow for flash and thumbgrid should be integrated more. especially when it comes to gallery type viewing / thumbs.
does any one know any info on whether this is planned?

well that seems like it is just what the doctor ordered.
as long as it is customizable through AS I will be quite happy.
I wonder after the Beta if it will be a free upgrade to TG users?
