I've cleared the cache before in my own self-hosted copies of Director, but can't figure out how to do it in a version of Director hosted at SlideshowPro.com. There is no System Info link. Is that not an option?

There shouldn't be any need for clearing the cache on the hosted version, it is all done automatically. If you are having an issue with the cache, let us know what is going on and we can take a look.

Okay, then maybe I'm confused about something else. I was changing the focal points for the purposes of thumbgrid, but the images weren't changing. I think I just found my answer here:
