random images from gallery

I am somewhat new to SSP and am using director and Lightroom. I have a group of albums that I have put into a custom gallery. I what to put a slideshow on my home page that will select images at random from the various albums in the gallery. It currently starts at the first album and goes through. any help or direction is appreciated.

Re: random images from gallery

Here's a way you can do that with Director.

1) Go through each album and assign a tag to each of the images you'd want to use on your home page slideshow. You'd do that by double clicking on an image, and below the title/caption you'll see a tag field. Enter something like "home" or "favorite".

2) When you have enough images tagged, go the Albums tab and create a new *smart* album. (Select "Smart" in the drop-down).

3) Enter the tag you assigned in step 1 using the "is tagged with" rule (which is the default).

You'll then have a smart album that uses content from each of those albums.

Now for random playback, change the Standalone player's "contentOrder" parameter to "Random" either through the param.xml file that Standalone loads or with a Flashvar, as described here:

Does that help/make sense?
